It is often argued that parents should teach children how to become responsible members of society, while others believe that this is mainly the responsibility of schools. Although I acknowledge that parents play an essential role in shaping children’s values and behavior, I firmly believe that schools take the primary responsibility because they provide structured education and broader social experiences.

Introduction
Body
On the one hand, parents are children’s first teachers and have the greatest influence during their early years. As children spend most of their time with their families, they naturally learn by observing their parents’ behavior and attitudes. If parents consistently demonstrate values such as honesty, kindness, and respect, children are more likely to develop these qualities themselves. For example, in Vietnam, many parents teach their children to respect older people, obey the law and help those in need from a young age. These early lessons form the basis of responsible behavior later in life.
On the other hand, I believe schools are better equipped to prepare children to become good members of society. Besides providing academic knowledge, schools offer a structured environment where students learn to cooperate, follow rules, and respect people from different backgrounds. Through group projects, volunteer activities and community campaigns, students have opportunities to put moral values into practice rather than simply learning about them. In addition, teachers are trained to guide children’s social and emotional development, making schools well suited to promote responsible citizenship.
Conclusion
In conclusion, although parents play a vital role in teaching children moral values, I believe schools should bear greater responsibility for preparing them to become socially responsible members. By combining classroom education and practical activities, schools can help young people develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to contribute positively to society.
