The table chart indicate the proportion of working men and women in retail, health, manufacturing and tourism in one town in three different years. Overall, manufacturing employed accounted for the highest percentage at the beginning of the period ; by contrast, the number of men and women working in health was lowest. It is also noticeable that the the percentage of male and female working in retail and manufacturing witnessed a downward trend, while male and female employment in tourism and health saw a considerable increase over the period shown. The period from 1990 to 2010, the proportion of male working in retail remained stable at around 13. In the same period, there was a slightly drop in the ratio of men in tourism to only 10. Whereas, Female employment in retail and tourism showed an upward trend to about 9 and 27 respectively over the following 20 years. Turning to the remaining sectors, we can see the proportion of men working in health grew minimally from around 7 to 9 over the period shown, by contrast, men employment working in manufacturing fell enormously by around 20. While, women employment working in health climbed gradually to approximately 15. During the whole 20-year period saw a negligible rise in the percentage of women working in manufacturing to roughly 8 before dropping dramatically to only 3 in 2010.
