＋It is argued by some people that reading or telling stories to children is important, whereas others say that it is not needed because there are many sources of entertainment for children these days. I prefer the latter one due to its benefits in recent social developments.

On one hand, telling stories to children can bring benefits for both the family and the children themselves. Firstly, it brings the opportunity for parents to interact with their young so that stronger relationships can be built between two generations, which results in less child-parent conflict later in life. Secondly, when listening to stories instead of watching, children will be able to imagine the story world from scratch, which helps develop children's creativity. Thirdly, it plays an important role in passing down lifelong traditional values derived from the tale to the young so that part of the culture can be preserved.＋

On the other hand, letting children be free to choose their own form of entertainment has its own advantages. Primarily, parents will have more free time so that they can focus more on their careers, which can contribute to a more stable financial background for the family, which is obviously an undeniable benefit in today's competitive world. Secondly, not all children are interested in story tales, so more varieties of choices will let the children be exposed to different topics that can make the children realize what they like at a very young age, which may have a significant effect on children's future career paths. For example, children who are exposed to the simplified version of professional knowledge at a very young age can develop good background knowledge so that they may be able to overcome their peers and develop a sense of pride and turn it into their favorite. Which, in consequence, are more likely to choose a related major in later study and jobs.

＋In conclusion, letting the children choose what to follow can bring advantages for their own development and free the parents so that they will have more time to focus on their careers and their own lives, which I think are reasonable enough to consider this as a positive development.
