The given diagram demonstrates how pineapples are grown and the manufacturing into different products. Overall, this is a man-made process which comprises multiple stages, commencing with the cultivation of pineapples, following with the cleaning step, and culminating in one of the three purposes: juice, canned food, or export, depending on their size. The process begins when the top part of the pineapple is planted into the ground under sunny conditions with the temperature ranging from 23 to 30 degrees Celsius. Gradually, the pineapple starts to stem out, from a crown measuring at 26 cm to a half-developed pineapple after 7 months. At this stage, additional ethylene is added to aid the growth of the fruit until it reaches maturity around 5 months later with a total length of 30cm and weighing 2kg. After that, fully grown pineapples are harvested before being washed to remove dirt as well as unwanted matter. Regarding the main processing phase, pineapple treatments are divided into three categories: small, medium, and big. For small pineapples, the leaves are first chopped off before detaching the skin from the body of the fruit. Then, the inner part can either be extracted and stored in a jar or be converted into juice, making it convenient for instant needs. Turning to medium-sized fruit, the first two steps are the same as the previous. However, the following step involves cutting the edible part into smaller rings or chunks before sealing them inside a labeled can. As for large pineapples, instead of deforming the fruits, they are covered in a layer of wax and stacked into batches. Subsequently, the final products are loaded onto ships, ready for exports
