Due to a large range of knowledge, they can pass down the most valuable traditions to the younger generation, thereby, the new generation can learn from their experience and try to avoid the mistakes they have made. And from that, they can develop a better society, help to stimulate economic prosperity and strengthen social cohesion. Secondly, their contribution is also significant to the upgrade of countries’ image. More elderly means that the likelihood of cultural loss will be diminished, they have specialist knowledge about traditions and culture, so that with the aid of the government, this knowledge will be widened to societies. Therefore, the identity of the country will be improved and has a standing in the world as nowhere else in the world can originate these unique works. Besides, students can connect to their roots and hence, they will be more confident in studying abroad.On the other hand, this trend is a double-edged sword. With the increase in the longevity of life, the elderly can make the government shoulder social responsibility. With more people becoming older, their retirement can have a negative effect on the social economy as they will put pressure on the pension system, the government has to supply their needs and also fulfill their life. As a result, the government will have a hard time finding more employers to compensate for the economy, otherwise, this problem can lead to economic crises in some countries.＋ Additionally, regarding the health industry, the recruitment for doctors who specialize in elderly care will sharply increase and to satisfy this demand, it will take a really long time to accomplish it and also become a burden on societies.

＋In conclusion, despite the fact that the increase in life expectancy may have positive effect on societies, the government incorporate with citizens have to carefully take this into account, try to avoid all the problem it can trigger. Thus, only with genuine actions, the development of cities is stabilized.
