The charts give information about the average amount of time in a day spent on popular entertainment activities for different age groups in New Zealand. Overall, individuals in New Zealand tend to read more when they get older. Whereas, listening to music is more interesting among the youth and older individuals. Starting with spending around 20 minutes for reading per day, the 15 to 24 age group conventionally did not see books, articles,… as a relaxation activity. However, this number increased over time, the older people are, the more time individuals spent on reading. They witnessed a significant rise to roughly 35 minutes with the 25 to 34 age group, about 45 and 50 with the 35 to 44 and 45 to 54 age groups, respectively. Finally reached a peak at around 70 minutes per day with the over 55 age group. The youth have a tendency to listen to music. The figure showed that approximately 80 minutes per day, the 15 to 24 age group used to enjoy music. Although they decreased the time spent on music to 60 and 45 minutes when they moved into the 25 to 34 and the 35 to 44 age groups, respectively, they rose back to 60 minutes with the 45 to 54 age group and 75 with the over 55 age group.
