The maps illustrate the development of Brindell from 1800 to 2000. Overall, this area experienced a significant transformation in terms of land use and urbanization. Over the period, the region shifted from being primarily agricultural and woodland to be more urbanized with a subtantial increase in industrialization. In 1800, Brindell consisted mostly of farmland, with areas designated for both animals and crops. The region was heavily forested, with large woodland occupying a considerable portion of the land. Additionally, the river stour flowed through the area, providing water for the farmland. Besides, the town of Brindell itself was located in a small part of the area, with limited development. Over a century, Bridell had undergone significant transformation. The woodland was substantially reduced to make more space for farmland. However, the farmland for animals were replaced by a small industrial area. The “Bun hill’ area, a village for workers was developed to accommodate the growing workforce. There were more ships in the river stour to facilitate trading activities in this area. By 2000, the Brindell had transformed into an urbanized area. The woodland was minimized in size to make space for the ‘Bun hill’ area where park and factories were constructed and operated. The village for industrial workforce had been expanded considerably and a new Bun hill part had been introduced on the east of the layout. The farmland for animals and the town of Brindell had been recovered with significant enlargement.
