For instance, many people use their spare time to take online courses or watch educational programmes, allowing them to broaden their knowledge while relaxing. Furthermore, technology enables users to access this information anytime and anywhere, leading to enhancement of both personal development and enjoyment.

On the other hand, excessive dependence on technology may have some negative effects. Spending too much time on smartphones, laptops or social media can reduce face-to-face communication and discourage people from taking part in physical activities. As a result, some individuals may become less active and spend less quality time with their family and friends. However, these problems mainly come from how people use technology rather than the technology itself. By managing screen time effectively and maintaining a balanced lifestyle, people can enjoy its advantages without facing serious negative consequences.

In conclusion, although relying on technology in people's free time is not without disadvantages, I believe it is a large positive development. The convenience, learning opportunities, flexibility and improved communication it provides outweigh the potential drawbacks when technology is used appropriately.
