The line graphs illustrated the proportion of households owning different number of computers in a European over a 14- years period, from 1997 to 2011 Overall, while the percentage of households without any computers declined considerably, those possessing two or more devices became increasingly common. As for remaining categories, computer-free households constituted the largest group in 1997, at nearly half of all homes, marginally higher than the proportion of those owning a single device, at 45%. In 1997, the percentage of households possessing two computers was quite low, around 6%, while almost none of the households had three or more devices. The rate of households with two computers increased steadily, reaching approximately 15% in 2003 and 20% in 2006, before the end of the period around 30%. Three or more computers occurred more slowly than two ones. This group started rising in 2000 and reached around 8% last year. Computer-free households constituted the majority in 1997, at 50% in overall number of households; it was a bit more than the percentage of households owning a computer about 2%. However, computer-free households steadily decreased in following years, around 30% in 2007 and 20% in 2011. The trends in no computer were totally different in comparison with the others years, the proportion of households possessing one computer only remain unchanged, approximately 45%-46% during the survey period
