In the large number of nations, the amount of household waste, including food packaging has experienced the notable increase nowadays. This can be attributed to several factors, which calls for possible solutions to be adopted.

There are various reasons why the volume of household trash goes up significantly. One in particular could be that the increase of essential items. In present days, the large number of newborn babies has witnessed the significant increase; consequently, not only the need of daily necessities but also the figure for household garbage go up. A study of a prestigious university in Vietnam revealed that the growth rate of industrial waste per year in Vietnam increases from 10% to 16% due to the pressure on population growth. Another point worth mentioning is that individuals currently tend to have a habit of convenient consumption. In the developing world, fast food or single-use products are on sale in many a supermarkets. Because of the convenience and the cheaper price, consumers prior to buy and make use of them; as e result, these actions can cause the rise volume of household waste directly. Nevertheless, several solutions can be adopted to tackle this issue. One measure could be for governments to enact the one-child policy so that they can limit the wastage of families. The second approach could be both governments and individuals should raise awareness of protecting natural environment by purchasing sustainable items instead of the single-use ones.
