Introduction

In many nations, overweight and many health issues are two problems attributed to people’s unhealthy eating habits. This essay will provide some reasons leading to this negative consequence, then proposing some solutions to solve this problem.

Body

There are many factors contributing to this situation. The first thing is the lack of free time. Nowadays, as people living in the big cities and downtowns have to follow fast-paced lifestyles, they have to finish a heavy workload on time. Therefore, they are unlikely to have enough time to cook on their own and start to have unhealthy eating habits. To meet this excessive need, a lot of places such as supermarkets or convenience stores provide customers with not only household appliances like before but also a range of canned food, which enables users to save their time and efforts. Consequently, there is an increasing number of consumers who buy lots of processed food in the supermarket or go to fast food restaurants. This situation is considered as the main contributor to obesity and health diseases because many processed food products contain preservatives to prevent food from being spoiled. They can negatively impact human well-being when eaters consume a large amount of them. Secondly, people who have to deal with a lot of assignments are unable to have enough time to think about food, so they often skip meals and spend excessive time working on their tasks.

There are some measures that the government as well as individuals can implement and apply to tackle this issue. First, each person has to allocate their time during a day appropriately, therefore they can spend at least 15 minutes for each meal.Secondly, the government and policymakers should forbid companies to force their employees to work overtime. If they don’t obey, financial penalties are necessary. In addition, people’s eating habits can respond to changes in food prices. Therefore processed food products should be made costly and raw vegetables and meat should be made cheaper. Those initiatives can be recommended to be implemented widely to reduce the negative effects of unhealthy eating habits.

Conclusion

In conclusion, lack of time is the main reason why less people can cook on their own, which leads to the large number of people facing obesity and health problems. Some solutions such as taking control of employee’s working time or changing food prices will be effective provided that everyone have the strong attitude and maintain strict discipline about daily eating.
