The government should invest more financial support in science education than other fields for national development. While acknowledging the importance of investment in science, I would argue that other subjects should also receive sufficient funding to ensure the comprehensive growth of a country.

On the one hand, there are two major reasons why I advocate that allocating money into science is a good idea to accelerate a country’s development. First of all, it well - equip youngsters with a solid foundation of science to adapt to the technological era. Thanks to the public budget, students can have access to advanced science facilities such as computers and laboratories at school. Also, it gives them chances to have hands - on experience with science subjects like conducting chemical experiments. As a result, the students will gain a deeper insight into such scientific knowledge. In contrast to them, those who focus only on theories might barely acquire targeted knowledge and find science lessons relatively boring to them. Therefore, having access to practical experience with science will be useful in their career path. Secondly, it will drive scientific innovations and breakthroughs. Since the government supports young learners financially, those who have natural talent in the field will have a chance to exploit their potential even if they have an unlucky background. It will result in scientific discoveries in healthcare or information technology, which possibly brings forth economic benefits for the country.Nonetheless, some believe that other subjects should be funded equally for the holistic development of a country. For example, if art subjects get enough attention, they might help nurture students’ creativity and spiritual life. Young individuals will be guided towards different perspectives on life and develop empathy and tolerance in modern society. Similarly, it will be a pity if an important subject such as history is neglected in school curriculum since history fosters a sense of patriotism from an early age. So the youth with national pride might be more willing to devote themselves to the country. On the other hand, overemphasizing on science will make the youngsters pursue materialistic goals sometimes.＋

In conclusion, although all academic fields play an important role in shaping a comprehensive society, I firmly believe that funding more into science education should be the government’s top priority. Science does not only promote scientific innovation but also lays the solid foundation for long-term economic growth, which drives a country’s holistic development and progress.
