The question of whether works of art play a crucial role in daily life has heightened public interest in recent years. While there are some people arguing that investing government’s funding in putting more pieces of art in towns and cities to make them more attractive is advantageous to our modern society, I believe that there are other urgent problems that are more significant for official authorities to financially support.

Introduction
Body
Admittedly, the government should allocate money to designing statues or paintings to be put in towns or cities to make them more appealing. The key rationale behind this is that art installations in public spaces can significantly contribute to the aesthetics and cultural richness of these areas. As such initiatives can create visually pleasing environments, allowing both foreign visitors and local residents to feel more comfortable and relaxed. Hence, these masterpieces foster a sense of community, acting as notable features to attract tourists and even contributing to the economic growth of such towns or cities. Another convincing point is that public art can help the government promote a sense of pride among residents. This can be seen in Vietnam where several sculptures of historical figures are displayed in squares or roundabouts so that citizens can remember the contributions made by those people.
Despite the aforementioned justifications, I am convinced that there exists multiple urgent issues that need financial backing from the authorities. This is based on the fact that focusing on art installations can be seen as wasteful spending, as exposure to harsh elements such as rain, snow and sunlight can cause fading, erosion or other forms of damage to artworks, reducing their aesthetic appeal. Worse still, this may be exacerbated by vandalism or graffiti, which do a great disservice to the whole image of those pieces of art. Instead, the government can divert financial resources to problems like poverty and education or practical ideas.+ These may lay a foundation to sustainable approaches for the sake of the country’s development and future generations.
Conclusion
+In conclusion, although it is widely acknowledged that enhancing towns and cities with artworks might seem appealing at first glance, I would contend that the government should be held responsible for more urgent issues regarding the advancement of the nation in the near future.
