Introduction

In this contemporary world, the lack of work-life balance has become so common. It is argued that corporations should give their workers at least four weeks for annual leave due to better performances at jobs. I largely agree with this suggestion, since it provides employees with a rest after such a long time working and also the chance for companies to improve productivity.

Body

On the one hand, the main benefit of offering annual leave for staff is that they have time to manage stress and reduce pressure. Employers may require staff to have to work all days per year to avoid negative effects on sales figures. However, it is the main consequence leading to the stress which staff may face. Therefore, it can cause lower decision-making, unavoidable mistakes, and also impatience. A four-week holiday acts as a key that workers have time for themselves and also their families. In this period, they have a tendency to relax, travel, fully disconnect from work, and also rearrange the work-life balance, resulting in the refreshment of staff morale. As a result, after returning to work, they will have motivation and confidence to finish a backlog of work and maintain a sustained performance, thereby improving sustainable productivity. On the other hand, corporations also receive numerous negative consequences. Provided that a majority of workers are absent for a long period, the companies cannot immediately find someone to cover their duties, thereby leading to the backlog of work, higher costs of hiring employees. These difficulties are real, but they can be managed through offering suitable gaps among annual leaves, establishing extra curriculum for staff in advance when there are any absences. For instance, many big companies in Korea have some rules which can operate branches precisely, leading to fast-paced development of them. Thus, a suitable management before providing holidays for employees is essential. The long-term gains in performance usually outweigh the short-term inconvenience.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I agree that workers should be provided at least four weeks of holidays per year as they can have the opportunity to relax and spend time with family. As a result, only when employers manage personnel coordination precisely should employees prepare themselves carefully for the next period of working, leading to better performance at work.
