The two pie charts compare the distribution of the world's forest coverage and timber production across five distinct geographical regions: Africa, North America, Europe, South America, and Asia. Overall, it is immediately apparent that a region's share of global forest does not directly correlate with its contribution to timber production. In addition, while Africa possesses the largest percentage of the world’s forests, North America emerges as the dominant leader in timber resources. Regarding forest distribution, Africa holds the largest share at 27%, followed closely by North America at 25%. The remaining three regions represent smaller portions, with Europe accounting for 18% and South America for 16%. Asia possesses the smallest forest area, comprising just 14% of the global total. The disparity between the highest and lowest forest-holding regions is relatively moderate at 13 percentage points. In terms of timber, the distribution shifts significantly.
