＋Some individuals are of the opinion that paying for education and healthcare should be the responsibility of the government, while others believe this obligation should be taken by other parties. In this essay, I would discuss both views before proposing that the former perspective is more convincing to my view.

People who disapprove of government funding often focus on cost and personal responsibility. Schools, universities, hospitals, and medical systems require an enormous public expenditure, which usually comes from tax revenue. If the government covers every educational and medical expense, it can eventually lead to higher taxes and place a heavier financial burden on citizens. Moreover, instead of using most of the budget for individuals’ fees, governance can allocate more resources to improving the quality of schools or hospitals. For example, investing in modern medical equipment, building better schools and hospitals, and offering more competitive salaries to teachers and healthcare workers would improve the overall standard of these essential services and benefit society in the long run. As a result, taxpayers are more likely to feel that their money is being used effectively, while governments can reduce unnecessary financial pressure on the public budget.

However, I believe that the government should take responsibility for providing essential education and healthcare, because this is not just a private benefit, but an overall society one. A well-educated population can provide a more skilled workforce, create more productivity and support economic growth. In the same way, access to affordable healthcare allows individuals to stay healthy and prevents illness from becoming more serious. If these services depend highly on personal incomes, children from low-income families may face weaker education, while many people may delay medical treatment simply because they cannot afford it. Consequently, this problem will widen social inequality and even prevent talented people from pursuing their dream. The government should therefore fund a strong basic service which is suitable and available for everyone. In that case, people still pay for private private school, faster treatments, but the essential service should never depend on personal incomes.

In conclusion, although governments should not be expected to cover every educational and medical expense, they remain responsible for ensuring that all citizens have access to essential services. I suggest that a balanced approach which is basic services for everybody may be both fair and financially sustainable
