The table illustrates the price of water in five distinct cities in Australia Overall, Sydney holds the highest charge per kilolitre if the water usage is not greater than 125KL. On the other hand, Perth holds the highest charge per KL if water usage exceeds 125KL, as well as the highest average water bill per household. First, let’s take a look at Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, three cities where the usage charge per kilolitre of water used, even if the usage exceeds or is smaller than 125KL, seems to level off. To be more specific, we can see that the usage charge in both situations for Sydney and Melbourne stays the same, at $0.98 and $0.78. On the other hand, these two statistics of Brisbane nearly stabilize, with $0.81 and $0.84, respectively. Coincidentally, the average bill per household is in the same order as the usage charge of Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, at $319, $310 and $ 253 in that order. Turning to the two other cities, Adelaide has the same charge of money per kilolitre of water used as Perth, both at $0.42. If the usage is more than 125 kilolitre, both witnessed a significant increase in the usage charge, with Adelaide’s soars to $1.00 dollar and Perth suddenly rockets to a remarkable amount of $1.5. Consequently, the average bill per household in both cities are in the highest group, as Adelaide’s is $312 and Perth’s is $332, which seems to match with their $0.5 difference in the second category.
