Due to the working-age adults, they struggle to balance between caring for the elderly and labouring hard in order to maintain day-to-day life. For instance: A working-age adult tends to focus on work and holds a full-time occupation in order to earn a living and maintain daily life. Sending the elderly to nursing homes seems to be an appropriate path for him/her to ensure that he/she can both focus on working and has little reasons to worry about older adults. Moreover, most elderly people are able to seek joy because of the positive environment in nursing homes. They would rather participate in cultural, sports and art activities with like-minded individuals than stay at home alone and wait for the children. As a consequence, some elderly people even proactively choose to stay in nurse homes since they do not want to place a burden on their children.＋

In contrast, it is undeniable that families play an essential role in taking responsibilities for looking after the elderly. Most elderly individuals look forward to family reunions and want to be close to their children in order to take care of them as well as possible. Additionally, the working-age adults had better take responsibility for caring for their parents and not depend overly on strangers. To take an example, the older people find a fulfilling and stable life with their children and grandchildren supportive and warm rather than living in a strange environment. Besides, the children obviously have the duty to care for their parents since living together can strengthen family bonds and mutual understanding. As a result, majority group of individuals make an effort to balance between taking after elderly people and working to earn a living.
