The diagrams illustrate the current layout of Huntingdon and its proposed improvement. Overall, the town is set to experience numerous significant changes to foster urban connectivity. These major shifts involves the enhancement of public infrastructure, adjustments to traffic networks, and the introduction of an industry-based area at the expense of an open-air site. Looking first at the road system, it is planned to be adjusted significantly. The northwestern roundabout, where the A1 and A14 roads intersect, is proposed to occupy the same position. While the former runs from north to south, the latter extends horizontally along the south. The small road earmarked for future retention connects the northern end of the A1 to the airfield, which is slated for conversion for an industrial zone. In the middle area lies Brampton Road, which now intersects with the A14. The former links the A1 in a T-junction shape to the ring road encircling the town center in the east. Also, the intersection between Brampton and A14 roads is set to be held by a new roundabout. Concurrently there will be the removal of the southern section of the A14, while constructing a new section of this road, linking the A1 to a novel road connecting to the ring road. Surrounding the railway station and the town center, built-up area is proposed to remain unaltered, with a cluster of shops and residences. However, planned rail lines are projected to connect the existing system and the new industrial estate, improving urban transport accessibility.
