It is believed that protecting the environment is the major purpose of multilateral collaboration; however, others state that its main benefit is global business. While there are valid arguments on both sides, I personally believe that cross-border cooperation tends to focus more on protecting the environment for several reasons.

On the one hand, some people said that business purposes attract continental partnership. First of all, trade agreements among countries play a key role in the development of a nation. Multilateral trade agreements will eliminate the tariff boundaries and boost the commerce of each country, so they can simplify the import-export trade that helps improve the economy and gather high revenues. For example, ASEAN signed trade agreements with Southeast Asia to tighten the relationship for mutual development. Second, the desire for selective development. According to the strength of one nation’s fields, they can cooperate to complement each other. For instance, Vietnam is common for manufacturing rice, while producing cashew nuts is the core competency of India. Consequently, both countries come to the bilateral trade for serving the life of residents and improving life quality.On the other hand,I would argue that multi-national collaboration pays much attention to the protection of the environment. First and foremost, environmental issues affect the global lead to joint-hand effort. In this modern world, there are more and more severe environmental problems such as global warming, sea pollution and deforestation. Therefore, residents, by themselves, are not enough and they need worldwide partnership to reduce the bad influence and help the world become better day by day. Second, gathering more ideas contributes to the protection of the environment. In order to keep the surroundings clean and unpolluting, the global ought to join hands to launch an initiative before the matters get worse. For instance, in numerous developed nations, renewable energy such as solar panels and wind turbines are being innovated to minimize the use of non-renewable sources. In addition, eco-friendly containers and bags, which are made out of natural-based materials and self-dissolvable, are encouraged and introduced to the citizens so as to reduce the effect on marine or climate change.＋

To summarize, both sides have their own merits. While there are arguments that international cooperation is advantageous to business, I believe that protecting the environment is the main purpose for the influence of global collaboration and the quantities of new ideas.
