＋It is believed that the prevalence of video games on handheld devices is a negative development. I completely agree with the view that easy access to these digital distractions is detrimental to both the individuals and the broader community.

First of all, the availability of entertainment such as video games frequently disrupts a person’s daily routine and productivity. Many users find themselves immersed in the virtual world late at night, a bad habit that severely contributes to sleep deprivation and academic and professional performance. A sedentary lifestyle and the lack of focus on long-term goals ,for instance, often result from excessive gaming or watching videos on social media. Over time, people may suffer and struggle with mental health problems such as heightened anxiety, stress, and even aggression. Moreover, these unhealthy behaviours have broader effects on society, since the violent content in certain games in some cases may lead to rising levels of aggression within communities.

Secondly, the dependence on handheld devices like smartphones and tablets has resulted in an increasing phenomenon called “social isolation”. Since children or adults become accustomed to seeking solitary gratification through their screens, they often lose interest in conventional or face-to-face interaction. When the preference for the virtual world takes over the real world, it is clear that this change creates a generation that is socially isolated.＋ While some argue that these platforms offer more opportunities for creativity and global perspective, the reality is that without strict self-regulation and self-discipline, these merits are overshadowed by the neglect of real world duties and social obligations.

In conclusion, it is my conviction that unrestricted access to electronic entertainment has a negative impact on both personal and social spheres. By disordering life plans and weakening interpersonal bonds, these devices can profoundly diminish human quality of life. Hence, the use of handheld devices must be moderated and balanced to ensure that technology serves as a tool for progress rather than a barrier to social interaction.
