Overall, football was the most prevalent sport throughout the given years. In addition, except for football, swimming and rugby, other sports experienced a downward trend in its proportion of lovers. In terms of football, the survey recorded at least 40% of people who were interested in playing this sport throughout, at 41% in 1995, 42% in 2000 and approximately 44% in 2005. Following by swimming, interest in swimming accounted for 22% in 1995 before rising sharply to nearly 29% in 2000, finishing the period with a slight decrease to around 25%. In contrast, rugby saw a considerable decline from 24% in 1995 to 19% in 2000 and then rose back to roughly 26% in 2005. Regarding snooker, this kind of sports started with 30% of engagement, but then showing a markedly drop to around 21% and 22% in 2000 and 2005 respectively.
