＋Various educational institutions put an emphasis on different standardize tests to evaluate their students’ performance. However, many claim that students’ academic abilities should not be measured through such tests as students’ competency depends on external factors. From my perspective, I agree with this view＋

Admittedly, there is a compelling reason why school boards take advantage of standardized examinations to assess students’ abilities. This is predicated on the assumption that the majority of academic tests are standardized through various educational experts and teachers, who have seasoned academic experiences to ensure what paper tests are suitable to reflect students’ competency. However, this line of reasoning is not sound because it fails to extenal factors that affect students’ performance in such examinations. Some students can face exam anxiety, parents’ pressure and even psycological issues when they carry out these tests, which makes standardzied exams inefficent. For example, some students can continuously shake their hands and barely focus on the tests due to anxiety. Therefore, these tests do not accurately reflect students’ academic abilities.

There are serveral ways that student’s achievement can be assessed. Chief of these is that teachers can easily evaluate their academic performances through activities in classes. For example, teachers can organize some games with questions related to maths or physics knowledge. This can help teachers evaluate students’ academic abilities through the way they solve and answer the questions. Furthermore, students can carry out team projects, do presentation and make a speech in front of the classes. These assessments not only increase students’ engagement in the lesson but also accurately reflect their strengh and abillites in various spheres, such as commuciation or problem-solving skills.＋

＋In conclusion, although it is understandable why standardized tests are utilized by school boards to evaluate students’ performance, I believe that this assessment can not be efficient as students’ abilities depend on many factors.
