The table depicts the amount of financial aid allocated by charitable organizations in the USA, EU countries and Other countries to developing economies from 2006 to 2010. Overall, contributions from all sources increased over the five-year period, despite a temporary decline in 2009. Additionally, the USA was consistently the largest donor throughout the entire timeframe. Looking at the leading contributor, the USA always provided the most aid, starting at 9.8 million in 2006. Although donations from the EU and other nations were much lower, all three sources rose steadily until 2008. However, funding declined in 2009 before recovering in 2010, when US aid reached 20.3 million. Turning to the other categories, the EU and Other nations followed a very similar trend. EU donations stood at 3.1 million in 2006, slightly higher than those of Other countries. Both contributors rose steadily until 2008, before dipping in 2009, and finishing at 4.1 million and 3.7 million in 2010 respectively. Consequently, the Total climbed from 15.7 million in 2006 to 28.1 million in 2010 despite a slight fall to 23.5 million in 2009.
