The line chart illustrates the amount of occupations in millions in four different fields from 1960 to 2020, including manufacturing, agriculture, retail and healthcare. Overall, the number of jobs in manufacturing and agriculture descended over the time, while that of workers in retail and healthcare both ascended significantly, resulting in having the highest numbers in the end. First, in 1960, only around 2 millions employees chose to work in healthcare, which was the lowest number among the four sectors in the beginning. However, in the next 20 years, it increased strongly to exactly 5 millions and after that, it rocketed surprisingly to over 15 millions by 2020. Additionally, there were just 6 millions retailers in 1960, but in 2000, that number surged to 15 millions. In the end, it increased slightly to be equal to that of employees in healthcare, experiencing the first place afterward. In contrast, manufacturing already had 15 millions manufacturers, which was the largest amount in 1960. That number then peaked at 20 millions in 1980, but it soon decreased suddenly to around 13 millions by 2020. Besides, at first, there were approximately 6 millions people who worked in agriculture. However, in 1980, this number fell down to over 3 millions and it kept descending consistently to only 1 million by the end of the period.
