To be specific, constructing accommodations vertically allows cities to make full use of the limited area of big cities, thereby encouraging employees to work close to workplaces, which reduces their commuting fees and even saves businesses’ incentives for workers’ commuting routes. This, in turn, provides workers with money to spend on their necessities and interests, directly improving their quality of life. Additionally, once residential areas are located in certain areas, the governments can save money on destroying old buildings to give room for new infrastructure, allowing them to spend supporting funding on more necessary purposes. This fiscal measure, therefore, saves residents’ commuting fees for going to work and prevents a waste of space and governmental spending. Several big cities have successfully applied this plan; for example, China has created many high-rise cities, which not only deal with the lack of accommodations for its dense population but also offer money for developing safety systems, such as robotic cameras, efficiently reducing crime rates. However, the aforementioned benefits of building tall buildings have their economic drawbacks. Many family units are living in an apartment; as a matter of fact, it is extremely important to have instant checks and renovations for the buildings to ensure safety. The cost of them, however, can be enormously high when paying annually. Moreover, there is a likelihood that high buildings are more vulnerable to natural disasters, such as earthquakes, compared to one-story houses; as a result, it can be remarkably dangerous for residents in the long term, and waste governmental funds on construction. Moreover, this phenomenon also attracts a lot of people from rural areas to move to megapolises to seek well-paid jobs, triggering a continuous construction of accommodations and leading to a concern that several rural areas are left behind.＋ Consequently, this problem results in the insufficient use of natural resources, which are located randomly throughout the nation, as a result, placing a huge economic burden on the nation's economy as a whole and even slowing down the development of the economy and the sustainability of the nation.

In conclusion, although I accept that building tall apartment blocks can be beneficial for both individuals and governments in the short term, it should be meticulously considerated before applying widely.
