The pie charts compares the proportion of learners attending in different courses provided by an adult educational institution in 1985 and this year. Overall, throughout the whole period, there was an upward trend in the proportion of students in the courses of art and modern languages, including French, German, Spanish, while the opposite was true for cookery classes. No changes was recorded in the figure for those took part in fitness and dance classes. Notably, IT lessons replaced music appreciation and local history courses. In 1985, courses of modern languages, modern languages classes were the most common that attracted 24% students, followed by the figure for participants in fitness and dance classes, standing at 22%. The figures for individuals attending in the courses of cooking, local history and art were relatively equal, accounting for 14%, 15% and 17% respectively. Music appreciation courses were the least preferred ones that only 8% of students signed in. In this year, IT classes which were newly established dominated over the remaining courses with a figure of more than a quarter of total students. The percentage of learners joining culinary courses increased to 19%. While the proportion of students learning art classes decreased marginally to 15%, that of those learning modern languages dropped considerably to 17%. Lastly, fitness and dance classes remained unchanged and hold the second most preferred one, appealing to 22% of total students.
