The steps to make chocolate is shown in this process diagram. As an overview, it is clear that the main ingredient of chocolate is cocoa beans. To begin with, cacao trees that grows in South America, Africa and Indonesia will have their ripe red pods harvested - which has white cocoa beans. Those beans will be fermented so that they can be spread in the sun to dry, which gives them their recognizable brown seeds. The seeds will be put into large sacks, and then will be transported by the train or lorry - which will take the seeds to the factory, where the real process of making chocolate begins. The beans will be roasted at around 350 Celsius, then they will get crushed to remove their outer shell. Next, the inner parts will be pressed and liquified, creating liquid chocolate. And finally, the liquid chocolate will be poured into molds and hardens into the solid chocolate that we have today.
