The Ban the Box campaign in the US and the UK encourages employers remove questions about criminal records from application forms, allowing these applicants to be assessed based on their performances instead. Also, the government should adopt programs in prisons, offering education and relevant skills such as IT or mechanical expertise which are essential for inmates to find stable jobs. Halden prison in Norway is known for the most humane prison in the world that has implemented these programs;hence, reoffending rate in this country is just about 20% in two years.＋

In conclusion, some former prisoners re-commit crimes after being released from jail can be caused by discrimination and inadequate rehabilitation in prison.
