The bar charts provide information about the percentages of films released and cinema tickets sales for four film genres in a country in 1996 and 2000. Overall, drama and comedy accounted for the largest proportions of films released in both years. Comedy also attracted the highest percentage of ticket sales, while romance was the least popular genre in terms of both film releases and ticket sales by 2000. Drama was the most highest released genre, increasing from about 25% in 1996 to 35% in 2000. However, it ranked only second in ticket sales, which rose slightly from around 16% to 17%. In contrast, comedy made up a smaller share of film releases, peaking at approximately 25%, but recorded the highest ticket sales, increasing from 20% to around 23%. Fantasy represented a relatively small proportion of films released, although its figure increased from 10% to 15%. Its ticket sales also grew noticeably, from about 3% to 7% in 1996 and 2000, respectively. By comparison, romance accounted for only around 5% of films released in both years, which was the lowest percentage among four genres. Moreover, despite having the same proportion of film releases, its ticket sales declined significantly from about 5% to just 2%.
