The pie charts illustrate the age and gender of electronic game players in South Korea, as well as their preferred game genres in 2003. Overall, male players constituted a significantly larger proportion of the gaming community than their female counterparts. In terms of preferred game genres, action games were by far the most dominant of all six categories. Regarding the demographic profile of players, players were distributed fairly evenly across the three age brackets. The largest category was under 18, at 39%, slightly higher than 38% of the 18-36 age group, while players aged over 36 made up the smallest percentage, at 23%. In addition, the number of players was predominantly males, accounting for 72%, nearly three quarters of the total, while the figure for female players stood at 28%. Turning to the game categories preferred, action games accounted for 43%, meaning that this genre alone made up almost half of all players' preferences. The second largest category was sports games, at 20%, followed by racing games at 17%. In contrast, the remaining three types, including education, role-playing games, and others each accounted for only a marginal proportion, making up around 6% and 7% of the total players.
