The provided bar chart illustrates the proportion of waste disposal is landfill, incineration, recycling, and composting-across in four distinct cities namely Toronto, Madrid, Kuala Lumpur and Amman. Overall, landfill and incineration are the most popular methods of waste disposal in all four cities. By contrast, recycling and composting account for dramatically smaller proportions. In Toronto, landfill is by far the most dominant method, reaching 75% of the total waste. After growing significantly, the figure was much lower to around 11% for incineration. Before reaching a minimum to only 7% for composting, the percentages of recycled waste stood slightly higher at 8%. In Amman, landfill remained the dominant form of waste disposal, at nearly 48%, with incineration ranking second at 38%. In contrast, incineration is the preferred option in Madrid and Kuala Lumpur. In Kuala Lumpur, it reached a peak of 55% of the waste. The city witnessed a large gap of 32% when comparing incineration to recycling, which registered at 23%. Incineration was the primary waste disposal method in Kuala Lumpur. Landfill accounted for the highest proportion of waste in Madrid, followed by recycling. Consequently, the least common method across all four locations is composting, reaching its lowest figure in Amman at only 3%.
