In this day and age, environmental issues are becoming serious in the world. As a result, there is an ongoing debate over whether raising the cost of fuel for vehicles such as cars and other means of transport is one of effective ways to solve environmental problems. From my point of view, I am in complete disagreement with this view for some reasons outlined below.

One compelling reason is that vehicles such as cars and motorbikes play a vital role in people’s daily lives, especially in remote areas or for low-income individuals. The people in such areas rely heavily on private vehicles for commuting to work or accessing essential service. If the prices of fuel are expensive, this will place a heavy financial burden on people. As a result, people are forced to pay a considerable amount of money to buy fossil fuels such as petrol and gasoline. Therefore, raising the cost of fuel might be an impractical approach to implement environmental issues.

Another significant reason for my disagreement is that instead of raising the price of fuel, governments can find other alternative sources of energy such as wind power and solar in order to reduce dependence on fossil fuels. By providing alternative energy, the government can achieve more substantial and long-term environmental improvements. In addition, environmental issues will not mainly come from fossil fuel, but from industrial emissions, deforestation and excessive waste

In conclusion, I totally disagree with the idea that increasing the cost of fuel is an effective way to tackle environmental issues because it might impose an unfair financial burden on many individuals. Instead, governments should invest money in finding renewable energy and upgrading public transportation and regulating industrial emissions, which would be more effective ways to gain long-term environmental sustainability.
