The statistics illustrate the information and predictions regarding the change in the proportion of the population over a 65 years old in three nations ( Canada, Germany, and the UK) over 42-year period, starting from 1988. Overall, what is notable from the chart is that the proportion of the population over 65 aged in all three nations witnessed an increased. Germany consistently having the highest percentage, whereas the UK consistently recorded the lowest figure. At the start of the period, in 1988, Germany started with the highest elderly people at 20.35%, emerged as the leading category. Slightly below was Canada, with 16.45% people ages 65, while the figure for the UK is considerably different with 14.25%. Thereafter, Germany experienced a significant rise in the elderly proportion with sharply climbed to 25.53% in 2000, which is 5.12% lower than this figure for a 30-year , still ranking first all the entire period. Similarly, the elderly people in Canada recorded a rise from 20.65% in 2000 to 26.35%, remaining as the second highest percentage aged 65 and above. Finally, this age group in the UK rose minimal to 14.80% in 2000, before a notice climbed to 20.45% in the final year.
