In today’s fast-paced world, due to the significant increase of population every year, many people consider that the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks. From my perspective, I totally agree with this statement because although there may be some challenges for dwellers and designers, it can both offer enough accommodations for residents and reduce some cities’ issues.

It is undeniable that both architects and dwellers will face some difficulties if a large number of tall apartment blocks are built. First of all, because adding parking areas for each apartment is essential, designers need to consider whether the city has enough green spaces. Otherwise, this urban area will lose its natural biodiversity, which even leads to environmental pollution. Furthermore, dwellers may suffer from the block of natural light exposure as a result of living in the cities with numerous skyscrapers. For instance, there have been some city residents complaining that they can not benefit from daylight because their small houses are surrounded by high-rise buildings. However, building tall apartment blocks can bring various advantages, making it the best way to offer residents with enough accommodations. The first benefit is that people can own their houses without worrying about land purchase. By designing tall apartments, many individuals can live in a limited amount of land, which creates more land for other economic aspects to develop. Another compelling reason why we should have tall apartments in the cities is that it can strengthen relationships among individuals in the community. In fact, while different kinds of people live in apartments together, they can help each other overcome challenges such as unexpected emergencies or travel absences. Besides, as each individual has their own private room, daily conflicts usually occurring in neighbourhoods can also be reduced.＋
