There are several factors that motivate people to stay in the workforce, and money is the most important factor. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Introduction
Body
On the one hand, I agree that money is essential for people in order to meet their basic needs. To be more precise, workers’ motivation to stay in the workforce is to earn money, so that they can pay for their living expenses, including housing, food, bills, healthcare, and education. As a result, people have a reasonable quality of life. Furthermore, if they choose the career based on enjoyment or other non-financial factors, it may be difficult to support themselves, especially when they do not receive the financial support from their families. For instance, artists and musicians select a career path based on their passion; however, not everyone could make a living from the main jobs. Instead, they have to work a left-hand job to fulfill their life.
On the other hand, I believe that other considerations are as crucial as salary. Firstly, personal relationships and an atmosphere in the workplace provide workers with a strong motivation at work. For example, a good manager and friendly colleagues help create a professional working environment, which can boost productivity and enhance general quality of life. Moreover, job satisfaction might be also a priority factor of several workers when choosing a job. For some people, they consider what they could achieve, what skills they could learn, or the position they could reach at a company rather than how much money they earn. Finally, other people only choose the career simply because they would like to help others and contribute something positive to the society without thinking of the money or profit.+
Conclusion
In conclusion, although money is the important factor that affects people’s choice of jobs, other factors also play vital roles. Therefore, I strongly believe that salary could not outweigh all other motivations.
