While some people concur that allocating the national budget to medical services requires substantial government spending, many individuals, including myself, firmly believe that policymakers should cover the cost of healthcare.

Some people suggest that government funding for public healthcare is unnecessary. More specifically, in the fiercely competitive labor market, many individuals can exploit loopholes in healthcare welfare systems to receive excessive benefits, so they are more likely to pretend to be sick for personal profit, leading to unfair distribution of resources and social inequality. For example, some unemployed people tend to take advantage of the inattention of medical staff to receive free medical treatment repeatedly, making the systems have an insufficient amount of medicine to provide for other victims. Therefore, funding for healthcare welfare systems encounters risks of reducing the national budget and causing other potential problems. On the other hand, I strongly acknowledge that authorities should provide the national budget for public medical systems. In fact, when government agencies assist citizens, especially economically disadvantaged families, with public healthcare, they can easily gain access to medical services without facing financial hardships, meaning that they may save a large amount of money to invest in other fields such as education and maintain their basic living needs. For instance, when patients with chronic diseases receive state support in public healthcare, they are more likely to afford medical costs that exceed their budget without experiencing a long period of fighting against painful diseases or developing a negative outlook on their lives. Hence, allocating public funds to healthcare services tends to improve people’s well-being while reducing long-term medical costs.

In conclusion, although government-funded healthcare may be costly because of spending significant money on some individuals who exploit the systems, in this complex society, I believe governments should continue funding public healthcare because its long-term social benefits outweigh the financial costs.
