People hold divergent views regarding whether the government expenditure should be allocated on sport facilities for elite athletes or for all residents. This essay will analyse both these standpoints and provide reasons for my advocacy of the latter opinion.

On the one hand, proponents of prioritizing top class sportplayers point to national benefits. Chief among these is that the high-level athletes who are nation representatives would compete at the global tournament to bring glory to their homeland. In other words, they represent the country and compete for the prestigious prize. In addition, important contributions of elite sportplayers also enhance national economic growth through news media and national achievement . A clear example of this is Olympic participants' privilege. As a result, the top class athletes deserve to acquire state-of-the-art training equipment.

On the other hand, the public sport infrastructure is essential when considering public health and social cohesion. To expand on this, residents could relieve stress and connect with other people at the collective sport areas. Particularly, it promotes inhabitants’ physical and mental health.＋ Furthermore, this issue directly ties into social satisfaction as the government expenditure is funded by taxpayers. The imbalanced allocation might cause social instability. Consequently, the authorities improve the base of public sport infrastructure.

In conclusion, although the investment on frontier class athletes brings economic benefits and national accomplishments, I believe that the importance of residents’ privilege should be prioritized over only small top class group.
