Frequently asked questions
Are the courses free?
Only the start of each course. Once you sign in, Module 1 of the Writing Task 1 and Writing Task 2 courses and Stage 1 of the Speaking course are free. The modules and stages after that need a paid plan.
Which plan do I need for the full course?
The Writing Task 1 and Writing Task 2 courses from Module 2 onwards are part of the Writing plan. The Speaking course from Stage 2 onwards is part of the Speaking plan. The Combo plan opens all three courses in full.
Is coursework graded by AI, and does it use credits?
Yes. Essays in the Writing courses are scored by AI against the IELTS band descriptors, with mistakes highlighted and fixes suggested. Spoken answers in the Speaking course get automatic feedback against each target; no band score is given for each answer. AI grading draws on your shared credit wallet, which refills every month; in the Speaking course, 1 credit covers 10 gradings. The Writing plan grades Writing without using credits, the Speaking plan does the same for Speaking, and Combo uses no credits.
Which languages are the courses in?
