What you'll learn

The skills you'll master after completing the course

Recognise the 5 Task 2 question types and understand the 4 marking criteria: Task Response, Coherence & Cohesion, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range & Accuracy
Paraphrase a prompt at both levels: word level (synonyms, word forms) and sentence level (active ↔ passive, changing word order)
Develop ideas through cause and effect, examples and comparison — instead of running out of things to say after one sentence
Write a two-sentence introduction (paraphrased prompt + your position) and a conclusion that restates that position without adding new ideas
Apply the KIPO process to Advantages–Disadvantages prompts: pull out keywords → brainstorm → settle on a position → outline → two body paragraphs following topic sentence, point, explanation, extension
Get used to what the exam room asks of Task 2: at least 250 words in 40 minutes

  • Self-studiers who need a clear session-by-session roadmap instead of scattered learning
  • Anyone who wants a solid foundation before tackling the remaining question types: Agree–Disagree, Discussion, Cause–Solution and Two-part
